About
Ember Harbor Collective began with a question: Who is creating space for the adults who spend their days creating space for everyone else?
Educators are constantly learning, responding, supporting, planning, and solving problems. Yet meaningful professional growth doesn’t always happen through another presentation, training, or meeting.
Sometimes we need room to talk. To think. To create. To hear another perspective. To finally tend to the think that’s been sitting in the back of our minds.
Ember Harbor Collective was created to make room for that.
Hi, I’m Lauren
I'm an educator, artist, facilitator, and lifelong learner who has spent more than 14 years working alongside students, educators, and school communities. My path through education has taken me from the visual arts classroom to alternative education, student support, professional learning, and educational leadership.
Along the way, I've become increasingly curious about the adults who make schools work: how we connect, create, solve problems, respond to challenges, and continue growing in work that asks so much of us.
Ember Harbor Collective grew from that curiosity—and from my belief that educators deserve meaningful spaces to think, connect, create, and figure out what comes next.
I believe in
Dignity. People deserve to be heard before they are solved.
Curiosity. Good questions can create movement where answers haven’t.
Creativity. Creativity isn’t limited to art. It’s how we imagine possibilities, solve problems, and make meaning.
Belonging. Growth is easier when we don’t have to do it alone.
When adults change, relationships change. When relationships change, school culture changes. When school culture changes, children’s lives can change.

A little about my path
My work in education has included secondary visual arts, alternative education, student support, restorative practices, SEL and PBIS, professional learning, curriculum development, and educational leadership.
I hold a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and a BFA in Illustration from California College of the Arts. I am also a certified Texas Visual Arts educator and CPI-trained.
More than any single title or credential, these experiences have shaped how I approach this work: with creativity, curiosity, dignity, and a belief that people are often capable of finding their next step when given the space to explore it.
